Second shot, shot at Kish island wharf in the Persian Gulf, Hormozgan province, Iran. I used a star filter to create the star effect on the lights, but I'm not really sure where this other strange side-effect (the disconnected-ness) on the star lines is coming from. Maybe the foggy weather had some role, but if anyone figures it out and can explain it based on physics, please let me know, I'm very interested.
On a side note, look at this petition about correcting the name for the Persian Gulf on Google-Map. Apparently there's a mention of Arabian-Gulf there which is completely absurd and people are gathering signatures to get rid of that "moronish" name from Google-Map:
